Our team's desire is to help facilitate a church planting movement in Southwest Tokyo. Click here to view the grand plan!
Denen Grace Chapel is a growing, thriving, indigenous Japanese church in Kawasaki. For 17 years, Denen has met together in living rooms, smaller conference rooms and now is renting a basement hall for its weekly worship gatherings. This space is a blessing as it will continue to serve as a place for worship and joint gatherings of our future church plants.
However, there are some limitations. The main obstacle is that any and all church activity must happen on Sundays. Japanese homes and restaurants are tiny and do not provide the most efficient setting for Bible Studies, counseling and other discipleship opportunities. Denen needs a place throughout the week to leverage these opportunities!
Listed here are the benefits our house/church facility.

Ministry Throughout the Week
Activities include outreach events, bilingual outreach (Japanese love to learn English!), kids ministry, counseling appointments, Bible Study venue or a non-Sunday smaller corporate gathering and a central location for staff meetings.
Credibility in the Community
Japanese are highly cautious and having an address, church sign and other marks of stability remove any of those hinderances toward ministry.
Housing for National Pastor
It's almost a prerequisite for Japanese pastors to have their housing needs supplied. This multi-purpose church facility/staff housing allows us to offer this benefit.
Propels Future Church Plants
Acquiring a Multipurpose House/Church Facility will enhance Denen's growth and can move our vision forward into greater focus on hiring Japanese pastoral staff and initiating new church plants.
